Related to development of large oilfields Kashagan, construction of the new freight port began at Kuryk town. The tankers will load crude oil here and transport it though the Caspian Sea to Azerbaijani Baku or other destinations connected to the pipelines.

The construction is going no both onshore and offshore.

New piers are being created.

Heavy machinery work is underway.

The port is emerging in the steppe about 20 kilometres from Kuryk town.

Because of the new road and pipeline construction, huge amounts of soil are excavated.

The new Kuryk port should extend the capacity of insufficient Aktau sea port.
